Running OVOS after installation and reboot

Hi, I’m a newbie to Raspberry Pi and OVOS. I have a pi 5 and successfully installed OVOS. It ran after installation and mycroft responded to queries. But when I rebooted, I can’t figure out how to get OVOS to run again. What terminal commands do I need to get it going in a new session? Thanks for you help.

How did you install OVOS? That’s going to be important to help you troubleshoot. :slightly_smiling_face:

I followed this installation path: [HOWTO] Begin your Open Voice OS journey with the ovos-installer 💖 😍

The ovos-installer sets systemd unit files which are responsible to start OVOS components.

Which services are not starting?

I looked at active services and saw no OVOS services active after installation. I uninstalled and reinstalled OVOS and it didn’t launch on installation.

The ovos service is just a meta service, once the others services are started this one gonna stop. This is an expected behaviour.

ovos-audio.service loaded active running Open Voice OS - Audio
ovos-core.service loaded active running Open Voice OS - Core (skills)
ovos-ggwave-listener.service loaded active running Open Voice OS - ggwave listener
ovos-gui-websocket.service loaded active running Open Voice OS - GUI websocket
ovos-gui.service loaded active running Open Voice OS - GUI
ovos-listener.service loaded active running Open Voice OS - Listener
ovos-messagebus.service loaded active running Open Voice OS - Message bus service
ovos-phal.service loaded active running Open Voice OS - PHAL
ovos.service loaded active exited Open Voice OS

Hi! Im triying to execute Ovos after install but i cant, i dont know how. The installation seems well, like [HOWTO] Begin your Open Voice OS journey with the ovos-installer 💖 😍
Thanks!

  • What is not working?
  • Any errors in the logs?
  • Which OS?

Thanks for answering.!
I load the image into the SD, when Ovos starts it asks for a username and password, which I don’t know, after several attempts, it asks for the username and password that I configured in raspy imager. Now I’m trying with 06Jul2024_1156_raspOVOS-headless-dev.zip

RaspOVOS is not the same thing as the ovos-installer as you mentioned from the link above. Maybe @builderjer will be able to help.

Is the latest image waiting for ovos 0.0.8. If you have any issues, please let me know
