Please add a Theme option to user preferences

I can’t find a “Site Feedback” category so I am posting here.

Please add a Theme setting to user preferences (with one option being “Dark”. I have automatic dark mode checked in “Interface” but that has no effect. The “Theme” option is implemented on a couple of other Discourse forums that I visit, which works fine for me.

Thanks

Dark mod works for me.

Thanks,

but that does not work for me in Pop-OS 22.04 which has a dark mode nor with a VM running debian sid with a window manager but no desktop environment and does not have a dark mode.

I may have fixed it for you, can you check please? If not I’ll try another setting.

Thank you, Clary,

but it did not work for me. Maybe these will help (I think the first has already been done, so maybe I should have listed the second one first. I know nothing about discourse administration):

You might try toggling your dark mode preferences in system settings to see if that works; I’ve had to do similar in Ubuntu/Mint occasionally after booting. No idea the cause, but I suspect something about systemd service load order.

Do other sites respect your browser/system settings? (i.e. google.com or duckduckgo.com)

Thank you for the excellent suggestions, NeonDaniel.

Unfortunately, toggling dark mode in system settings did not work. Setting dark mode in chromium only works for me for me on the settings page itself. Both google and DDG come up with a a white background.
