Hello
I was one of the original backers for the Mycroft II on Indigogo. It was a complete disaster with delay after delay after delay. Eventually, they promised us that we’d get the new units, except they never shipped me any saying they didn’t have any available yet. Now I found out that they not only never shipped me my units but that they started selling them to other people and those people did receive them from MyCroft.
How can I get my units? Or who can I contact about getting a refund (or filing a small-claims lawsuit)?
You didn’t miss anything, mine is on a shelf as an ornament. My 500+ was also a wasted. Get an in house server and run HA if you want voice control on automation etc for self contained privacy
Yeah, I already have a HA server, and it works great. I was hoping to use the hardware as screens and microphones in the HA system. I figured this would be an easy software change because they changed the Mycroft II to be a glorified Raspberry Pi.
Does anyone have a way to reach the Mycroft people? Their website redirects here and I can’t find any company information.
I’m using my Mark II daily with Open Voice OS running on it.
Here is a quick video of last week status.
Maybe @NeonClary might have more information to share about KickStarter, etc…

Hi @criticowl welcome, I’m sorry we’re not “meeting” under more joyous circumstances. Mycroft.ai no longer exists as a corporation. The sad details are still here on this forum, we’ve kept all of this community’s history intact, while doing our best to everyone a chance to recover and a space to move forward in.
Your project sounds interesting - would you find “naked” screens and microphones useful? I work at Neon AI, and when Mycroft closed we did our best to support this community, including taking on this forum and contributing postage so that some of Mycroft’s surplus parts could be sent to us, to have them available for our customers and community members who might need to repair their devices.
It isn’t the same as being able to send you the devices you (and we) and so many others hoped to get from Mycroft, but if you could put them to use without the rest of the hardware, I could send you a handful of screens and microphones. Although if you are outside of the US import and shipping costs may make it cheaper for you to buy something local than for me to send you the hardware.
I’d settle with an address for process service in a small-claims court case against this person:

Anyone know how where this fraud and thief is today?
No idea, but it may be worth looking at this post and related comments: Update from the CEO: Part 1
The fastest path to using the Mark 2 for something else would probably be to use ovos-installer with a Raspberry Pi OS server image, then simply remove the OVOS parts. That gives you the Pi optimization and drivers for the SJ-201 board that handles sound and the display. At that point you have a fairly basic Linux server that you can use how you see fit.
What Mark 2? I paid for 3 and received 0. Despite multiple promises that I’d get sent my units, nothing was ever sent. At the same time they were telling me that they didn’t have units for me there were selling them to the general public. That’s fraud. I’m just trying to get my money back since it seems they don’t actually have any more product or exist at this point.
That’s understandably frustrating. Did you read through the post I linked? There might be some insights there that could help your case, although I don’t know how effective a suit would be. They don’t exist as a company, the Indiegogo and Kickstarter were through that company, and neither platform guarantees shipment of products that are backed.

Hi, bit of a novice here but can you give more in-site how to revert mk2 to a basic Pi that can act as mic and touch screen to HA running on my server
