Mark II with Neon AI does NOT like to reboot

Is there a known issue when rebooting the Mark II with Neon AI using the LCD?
When I choose reboot from the menu it seems to shutdown every so nicely, but
when it comes up it just sits at:
RAMDISK: incomplete write (-28 !=131072)
Failed to flush()
this is using the SSD preloaded from NeonAI.
The only way I can fix it is to pull the backup I made when I got the SSD and reimage. It then comes up fine, but again when I need to reboot it does the same thing.

I’d like to have this more stable. I should be able to reboot the device 100 times and it should come back up 100 times unless I screwed up the gui or something. In this case, I can’t even SSH to the box to look at the logs.

What was I doing. Well, it does not seem to matter. I can literally reimage, bring it up wait 30 minutes and reboot thru the interface and it will do it again.
I have tried another RPI4 as well just take that out of the equation.

Just to clarify, that message comes up after you select “Reboot” from the menu, or after you plug the Mark2 back in after being powered off (or both)?

I haven’t seen that before and it’s odd that failing to flush the ramdisk to SSD would cause an issue like that…

I found out the problem. The problem is a known issue with SSD’s on RPI4. You can read more about the issue here:

I have since moved to using this particular SSD only as storage (no squashfs) and the pi 4 is now botting off a small usb stick. I’ve rebooted a total of 15 times and no issue at all. When I get a chance I will try again with another SSD.

Interesting… Thanks for tracking that down!
