Failing to setup due to pip version

Hello.

No matter what I try, I cannot get mycroft installed on a fresh install of ubuntu 22.04 due to the following error:
WARNING: You are using pip version 20.0.2; however, version 23.2.1 is available.
You should consider upgrading via the ‘/home/jay/mycroft-core/.venv/bin/python3 -m pip install --upgrade pip’ command.

No matter what I try I cannot get past this error.

I have upgraded in every which way possible, nothing works.

I don’t really know what more I can ask or explain, I have probably done every recommendation that I will be provided with…

What is the secret? Surely this has frustrated many people in the past with it not just being a simple installation.

I am going to try Picroft_v20.08_2020-09-07.img on a raspberry pi to see if that works out of the box

Tldr, Mycroft is abandonware, you need to move to OVOS or Neon, the surviving projects continuing the original work. Read the FAQ for more details
