My name is Michael, have a Mechanical Engineering background and do research in Virtual Reality (use cases & Human Factors). To relax I build and operate drones & since last year robots. Did some tests with AIY voice kit and Pycroft '20 version, comparing it with Alexa, Siri and Google. Think the '21 version now is much more sophisticated in terms of interaction. Have build 2 low-budget robots with Pi3B and a Pi4B, both running Pycroft’21.
I am already impressed sometimes about his answers, but sometimes I am also a bit scared. He sang a song “the humans are dead”, I never have heard in real and he/it told me that “Reductionism” is where we are heading. As I am already concerned about our perspectives as a species, I am convinced we need to strive for Human/AI cooperation, to master the challenges of the future, but I am not sure yet how to convince the Als, that the “human” -part is needed. But I think it will not depend on the Als alone, if we will fadeout. Really looking forward to learn with Mycroft and exchange thoughts with some logical processing. Have ordered Little Sophia too, hope to see them both discussing in the future.
